Sieve side air type jigs are commonly used in coal preparation plants in China. According to their different structures and uses, sieve side air chamber jigs can be divided into three types: unclassified coal jigs, lump coal jigs, and fine coal jigs.

　　The jigger is composed of body 1, air valve 2, sieve plate 6, discharging device 4 and 5, gangue discharge channel 8, middling coal discharge channel 7, etc. The body is divided into an air chamber and a jigging chamber by a longitudinal partition plate 9, with the lower parts of the two chambers connected. The upper part of the air chamber is sealed and equipped with a specially designed air valve. The function of the air valve is to alternately supply compressed air into the air chamber, and at the same time, to discharge the compressed air from the air chamber outdoors according to a certain pattern. When compressed air is supplied, the water in the jigging chamber is forced to rise; When the compressed air in the air chamber is discharged, the water level in the jigging chamber automatically decreases. Therefore, the water surface in the jigging chamber is pushed up and down to form a pulsating water flow. If the amount of compressed air supplied is changed, the water flow stroke in the jigging machine can be adjusted, and the frequency of water flow pulsation can also be adjusted by changing the movement speed of the air valve.

　　The top water enters from the top water inlet pipe 13 at the lower part of the air chamber to change the water flow characteristics of the jigger and form a horizontal flow in the jigging chamber, facilitating the transportation of materials while loosening and layering the materials in the jigging chamber. The flushing water in the jig is fed in together with the raw coal from the machine head. After the raw coal is separated by layers in the jigger, the heavy product gangue and middling coal in the gangue section and middling coal section are respectively discharged to their respective discharge channels through the discharge device at the end of each section, and then discharged to their respective discharge ports together with the small particles and heavy products screened, and then discharged through the dehydration bucket elevator sealed with the machine body. The light product (clean coal) is discharged from the body through the overflow port.
